The Company That Cares – Love and Faith Personal Care and Respite Services

For many people, the challenges that come with caring for a sick, injured or aging loved one are a part of everyday life. Therefore, seeking support that will both help you maintain health and balance in your life while allowing your loved one to feel comfortable and confident in their own home is vital. You won’t be able to provide the level of care for your loved one if you aren’t taking care of yourself in the process.

Lovia Granger – Owner of Love&Faith

Luckily, Love and Faith Personal Care and Respite Services is here to help. This Home Care agency, founded and owned by Lovia Granger, staff Certified Nurse’s Assistants (CNA) and Personal Care Attendants (PCA). They offer professional personal home care aide services. Their philosophy is simple: providing high quality service on the principles of love and faith. After all, respite care at its core is a story of love – a love for God, life and others.

LOVE

Love and Faith Personal Care and Respite Services brings together two parts of who Lovia is; her love for helping others and her faith in God. As for her love, Lovia started her journey as a personal care provider in the church, long before she had even considered it as a career. At the time, she was a quality inspector for Nissan and worked there for about 12 years. When Mother Sanders, one of the mothers at her church, had undergone knee surgery and had to move into a new apartment, Lovia knew she would need assistance. Once she finished work, she would stop by Mother Sanders. While there, she took care of her every need. “I would clean up for her, wash the dishes, sweep, mop, take her clothes home with me to be washed, dried and folded and pick up her medication,” Lovia told us. She did this faithfully each day at no charge to Mother Sanders. “I was doing it from my heart,” Lovia said. This was the beginning of what would later become her business in personal care, built on her love for others and faith in God. Lovia was propelled to take personal care more seriously when Mother Sanders asked her one day if she had ever considered getting into it professionally. She was then introduced to a few other women who were in the business of personal care. One of the women gave Lovia the opportunity to join in and participate in a number of her home visits. “I wanted to be sure that this was something I wanted to do,” Lovia said.  Soon after this opportunity, Lovia knew that personal care would be a rewarding experience, so she left Nissan to purse her new career. The rest is history.

While on the topic of Love, Lovia loves to give back to her community. She gives a donation every year to Monica’s Hope, The Black Girl’s Rock Event and West Golf Academy. For the pass three years she’s held a toy drive in the parking lot in front of her Natchez office, where she makes sure that hundreds of children at the least have a toy for the holidays. In addition, Love and Faith Personal Care and Respite each year present a scholarship to four High School Graduates.

FAITH

Driven by her faith in God, Lovia’s passion has always been to help those in need and assist persons with compassionate service, bringing happiness and positivity to their lives. Her place in the world of personal care was further realized after surviving a terrible motorcycle accident. Lovia was the president of an all-female motorcycle club and for years, the women would go out and service the community. They’d ride around feeding the homeless to buying and distributing toys for Christmas. While on the road one day, Lovia was hit head on by a truck. With such an impact, Lovia was expected to have suffered grave injuries. But with the grace of God, she walked away almost unscathed, with only a few superficial scratches. It became clear to Lovia that God protected her from what could have killed her. “From that, I made a promise to God that I would take care of his people,” Lovia told us. She decided to be his vessel to continue his work by providing personal care services for people like Mother Sanders. To this day, Mother Sanders is still alive and Lovia continues to service her. Moreover, because of the faith Mother Sanders has had in Lovia all these years, she told all her friends about her who now are also part of Lovia’s program.

In 2018, Lovia officially launched her business in Flowood, Mississippi. She got approved through Medicaid and is able to service Medicaid clients. Then before she knew it, Lovia was opening up another branch in Bookhaven. In 2019, Lovia expanded to yet another location in Natchez and most recently in 2022, she established her presence in Carthage. What she started on her own as a labor of love has quickly snowballed into a company in four locations, servicing many communities and employing almost 200 people. “I never thought I’d have four locations,” Lovia said, humbly. Today, Love and Faith Personal Care and Respite Services is the premier care company in Mississippi.
